Yaakov Buzaglo Responds to Abuse: "Keep Smearing Me, You Won't Silence Me"
Reality TV star Yaakov Buzaglo has responded to a wave of backlash following his support for Yair Golan. He emphasized that he will not be deterred from his political convictions despite the personal attacks.
The storm surrounding Yaakov Buzaglo refuses to subside. After declaring that he is "not ashamed to be a leftist" and expressing support for the chairman of the Democrats party, Yair Golan, the star of "The Buzaglos" published another post this morning (Friday) in which he responded to the flood of comments, curses, and criticism he received on social media - and to the general public controversy that arose as a result.
Buzaglo, who recently returned to Israel after nearly a year in Georgia, made it clear that he does not intend to retract his words:
"I am a proud leftist. It won't help anyone. It is enough to read the comments to understand that I am in exactly the right place. The style, the attacks, and the disgust only strengthen my feeling that I made the right choice."
According to him, most of the commenters did not address the arguments he raised at all: "Instead of dealing with the content, you chose curses, defamation, and personal attacks. There was almost no comment with which one could conduct a real discussion."
Later in the post, Buzaglo leveled sharp criticism at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "I am not surprised and certainly not deterred. I have always stated my opinion and will continue to state it even when people do not agree with me. Just like the comments, that is how the country looks today. A violent discourse, division, and a system where too many things depend on one person who presents himself as a magician, but in my eyes, has led Israel to a series of disasters and failures."
Buzaglo emphasized that he will not let the criticism affect him: "Continue to smear me and my family members if that is what you choose to do. It will not change my values, it will not silence me, and it certainly will not make me ashamed of the path I believe in."
He concluded his remarks with another reference to his support for Yair Golan: "An IDF general, Deputy Chief of Staff, that is my choice. On October 7, when everyone else had not yet woken up or had not been woken up, he was there."
