Ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections, social activists in the Negev expect a notable increase in voter turnout among Bedouin women, driven largely by the home demolition policies championed by Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir.

Ali al-Nabari, a social activist from the Tel Arad region, noted that while women's participation has historically been low, the current political climate is generating a shift on the ground. "The wave of demolitions across the Negev, led by Ben Gvir, is the main reason," al-Nabari explained. "Those who haven't experienced it firsthand have witnessed the destruction of their neighbors' homes."

In addition to the demolitions, local initiatives are underway to encourage voting through transportation services, awareness campaigns, and community mobilization. While separate polling hours for women are not officially mandated, organizers are encouraging women to head to the polls at specific times to facilitate participation.

Activists emphasize that these projections are based on grassroots observations rather than formal polls, leaving the actual impact on turnout to be determined on election day.
