Seeing Black: Kia launches new editions for Sportage, Sorento, and Carnival
Kia's SUVs and minivan have been launched in a particularly sophisticated edition, entirely in black. Available now in Korea, but what about Israel?
Kia has announced a new edition for the Sportage, Sorento, and Carnival, under the name "Black Edition." The three models are entirely in black on the outside and inside, including a series of body parts, rims, and decorations. As of now, there are no plans to market them in Israel.
The base is the top-tier "Signature" edition, which is also not currently marketed in Israel. Kia adds light-alloy rims in a new design exclusive to the Black Edition, which the manufacturer claims creates a "strong and prestigious" impression.
The Kia Sportage, Sorento, and Carnival Black Edition are equipped with glossy black metal body parts. The cabin features leather upholstery and trim, all in black. The front seats include "BLCK" lettering to mark the edition.
The new edition arrives shortly after the launch of the 2027 models in Korea, which herald a slight upgrade in equipment: the Sorento now has fast wired charging (Type-C) of up to 100 watts for both front and rear passengers, 19-inch rims are now offered on the Sorento X-Line version, and the Carnival is equipped with rear LED lighting as standard, as well as fast wired charging in all three rows of seats.
The three models now enjoy more safety and luxury equipment in Korea, including rear cross-traffic alert with braking assistance, electronic child locks, lumbar support for the driver, and more.
As of now, there is no information on changes to the specifications of the models in Israel. Notably, Kia has been marketing the Sportage in Israel in recent years in parallel in two different specifications: regular, produced to European standards, and long, designed for the USA. The Carnival and Sorento are marketed in Israel in American standards only.
