Vladimir Putin threatens UK: "London's actions will have consequences"

Russia issued a threat on Monday against the UK after the Ukrainian army used British-made drones for the first time in attacks on Russian territory. The Moscow embassy in London stated that the UK will pay a "higher price" if it continues to support Kyiv in its armed struggle against the Russian army.

"Reports that the Kyiv regime is using British drones to carry out strikes deep within Russian territory confirm that London is deliberately betting on escalating the crisis in Ukraine, while hypocritically claiming to seek peace," the embassy stated, according to state media.

It was further stated that "London's actions will inevitably have consequences for which it will be held accountable. The deeper its involvement in this conflict and the greater its support for Kyiv's terrorist machine, the higher the price will be."

This is not the first time Vladimir Putin has threatened a NATO member. The Russian president has previously claimed he might consider nuclear strikes against NATO members that provide Ukraine with conventional weapons used in attacks on his country, which, of course, has not happened so far.

According to British media, Ukraine has used mainly self-produced and locally-made drones for attacks on Russian territory due to the difficulty in obtaining authorization to use Western missiles for similar missions. The UK, USA, and France have occasionally approved such attacks, but this has become less frequent due to declining stockpiles and Donald Trump's concerns about escalation.
