Iran Issues Travel Warnings for France, Belgium and Italy Amid Unrest
Iran issues travel warnings for France, Belgium, and Italy amid European unrest, advising its citizens to avoid protest hotspots and monitor local security updates.

Iran has issued a formal travel warning for France, Belgium, and Italy amid ongoing civil unrest in these European nations. The surprising move comes as Tehran itself grapples with severe economic crises, internal protests, and the fallout of regional conflicts.
According to the Iranian ISNA news agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Iranian citizens currently in France, Belgium, and Italy to stay away from hotspots, protest sites, and to avoid non-essential travel in areas affected by disturbances. The advisory noted that worsening unrest could lead to travel restrictions and widespread disruptions in public transport.
French authorities recently pointed to the Middle East conflict and rising fuel prices as key factors behind domestic unrest, alongside allegations of online disinformation campaigns originating from Iranian-linked accounts. In response to the friction, Tehran's public relations department instructed nationals abroad to closely monitor local security updates and keep diplomatic mission contact details ready.
