Solution found? Abu Farhi may be sold under the Turgeman deal structure
Colorado Rapids offered six million dollars while Maccabi Tel Aviv demands eight, and now a structure is being examined to bridge the gap using an additional million dollars in bonuses, similar to the deal in which the yellow-clad striker was sold to the New England Revolution last year.
Negotiations continue between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Colorado Rapids regarding the sale of Sayed Abu Farhi. As we reported earlier, Colorado offered Maccabi Tel Aviv six million dollars, but the yellow-clad club demands eight million dollars for Abu Farhi.
The parties continue to talk, and it has come to the attention of Walla Sport that the Abu Farhi deal may be similar to the deal in which Dor Turgeman was sold to the New England Revolution.
The Maccabi Tel Aviv striker was sold a year ago for six million dollars, an additional one million dollars in bonuses for scoring goals, and 25% of a future sale. The one million dollars in bonuses will be realized in the Turgeman deal if the striker scores at least ten goals in the season he plays for New England. Every time Turgeman scores ten goals in a season, Maccabi Tel Aviv will receive 500 thousand dollars. If he scores 15 goals in a season, Maccabi Tel Aviv will realize the full bonus on Turgeman and receive one million dollars.
This means that Maccabi Tel Aviv can add up to another million dollars to itself if Turgeman scores at least ten goals in two separate seasons, or 15 goals in one season.
It is not impossible that the Abu Farhi deal will be a copy of the Turgeman deal, so that Colorado will pay six million dollars and add one million dollars as bonuses.
