Manchester United Held to 1:1 Draw by Leeds United at Elland Road
Manchester United extended their winless run to six matches with a 1:1 draw against Leeds United, marking their worst start to a season since 1986 under Michael Carrick.

Manchester United continued their search for optimism in an increasingly complicated season, playing to a 1:1 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday. This result marked the Red Devils' sixth consecutive match without a win, their longest negative streak since the 2018/19 season.
A Struggling Campaign Under Carrick
Bryan Mbeumo gave the visitors the lead, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalized in the second half, leaving Michael Carrick with just seven points from seven rounds—the club's worst start to a season since 1986.
"We certainly don't accept the situation as if everything is great," Carrick admitted after the match. "Sometimes you go through tough periods and you have to find a way out of them."
Defensive Woes and Pundit Criticism
Carrick's lineup further illustrated the team's ongoing struggles. Diogo Dalot became the fifth different player to start at left-back this season, while Luke Shaw's fitness remains uncertain ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash against Como.
"Because they didn't lose at Leeds, we think United did a good job," said pundit Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports. "But in a way, that's a negative. We are lowering the standards."
