A Week After the Attack at a Rehovot Cinema: Four Suspects Arrested
Police have arrested four young people suspected of assaulting a cinema usher in Rehovot. The victim was attacked after asking a group of teenagers to stop smoking electronic cigarettes during a film screening.
A week after an usher at a cinema in Rehovot was violently attacked for asking a group of young people to stop smoking and causing a disturbance during a screening of the movie "Kupa Rashit," police officers from the Central District arrested four suspects today (Tuesday).
The incident occurred on Saturday night. According to the investigation, the usher approached the group and requested they stop using electronic cigarettes and disrupting the screening. In response, he was violently beaten and sustained facial injuries. MADA teams evacuated him to Kaplan Hospital, where he was hospitalized until the following day. By the time police arrived at the scene, the suspects had already fled.
Amir, 31, who was in the theater with his partner during the incident, told Walla at the time: "We went to see the movie 'Kupa Rashit' at Hot Cinema in Rehovot. Young teenagers were sitting in front of us and did not stop smoking electronic cigarettes throughout the entire film. We called the usher, but nothing helped. They continued their behavior, and as an asthmatic, it made me feel really unwell."
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are examining the role of each suspect in the attack. Depending on the findings, a decision will be made regarding the extension of their detention and the filing of indictments.
