A First at Assuta: Innovative Treatment Defeats Cancer

A medical breakthrough for blood cancer patients: for the first time at Assuta Ramat HaHayal Hospital, a hematology patient has undergone innovative treatment using CAR-T technology — one of the most advanced and promising treatments in the medical world today. The patient, who had been battling the disease and had previously undergone several unsuccessful treatment cycles, successfully completed the procedure and was discharged home for follow-up.
CAR-T therapy is considered a breakthrough as it is a personalized treatment based on the patient's own immune system. As part of the process, cells are collected from the patient's blood, undergo a specialized process that allows them to identify and fight cancer cells in a targeted manner, and are then returned to the body. The treatment is suitable for various types of hematological malignancies and is provided within the health basket according to approved indications.

"Bringing CAR-T treatments to Assuta is a significant milestone for us and especially for the patients.
