Once again: Rod Stewart canceled a concert at the last minute

81-year-old Rod Stewart canceled another concert at the last minute, this time a show that was scheduled for Monday at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, following a medical procedure he was required to undergo.

"Due to an unexpected but minor medical procedure that required immediate attention, Rod Stewart's concert tonight in Cincinnati has been postponed," the venue stated.

A new date is currently being arranged, and further details will be provided on Tuesday. All tickets purchased in advance will be honored. Rod is expected to recover quickly and looks forward to returning to Cincinnati.

This is the second time in two months that Stewart has missed a show due to a medical issue. Earlier this summer, he canceled a performance after doctors diagnosed him with a severe upper respiratory infection, which developed into laryngitis and left him unable to sing.

That cancellation drew some criticism: the next day, Stewart was spotted in the stands at a stadium in Boston, watching Scotland play Haiti. "I felt terrible... I really shouldn't have gone to the game," he said later. "I had to cancel a show the night before because I simply had no voice left. But the truth is, I didn't want to let my two sons down. I'll just have to take the criticism. I did it for the boys."

Back in June, Stewart stopped a concert to use an oxygen tank after nearly fainting on stage. Last week, he canceled another show at the last minute for a non-medical reason: hours before he was scheduled to take the stage in Niagara Falls, his team announced that a mechanical failure in the plane's landing gear prevented him from reaching the Fallsview Casino.
