McDonald's employee in Australia shouted at two Israelis: "Free Palestine"
McDonald's has suspended an employee after two Israeli customers claimed she called them "baby killers." The employee shouted "Free Palestine" at them after asking where they were originally from.
An employee at a McDonald's branch in Brisbane has been suspended after allegedly hurling antisemitic remarks at two Israeli men during a confrontation at the Cannon Hill branch late Tuesday.
One of the men, Asaf, who requested that his last name not be published for security reasons, said he began documenting the confrontation after an employee at the place became, in his words, "abusive" following a complaint about a missing burger in their order.
According to him, the employee asked them where they were from. At first, he replied that he lived in a nearby suburb, but after she asked him again, he told her he was from Israel. He claims that in response, the employee said: "Oh yeah, free Palestine," and continued to shout at the two: "Free Palestine."
Asaf said the confrontation left him "shocked." He asked to speak with a manager, but according to him, the situation escalated. He claims the employees refused to provide the two with a refund and even accused them of lying about the items missing from the order.
Asaf further claimed that the employee called him and his friend "baby killers" before the two were asked to leave the premises. Asaf said he contacted the police, where he was referred, according to him, to the Australian Human Rights Commission.
