Brawl leads to closure of well-known pub in Ashdod - owners suspected of participation

Police have closed a well-known pub in Ashdod for 6 days following a violent incident in which the business owners are suspected of participating. This event follows a series of violent brawls that have occurred in the southern region in recent days.

A serious violent incident occurred on Tuesday night at a well-known pub in the industrial zone of Ashdod. Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after the incident began and opened an investigation, during which they questioned those involved and collected evidence. According to initial suspicions, the business owners also participated in the brawl.

Following a review of the evidence, the operations officer of the Ashdod police station, Major Shlomi Benisti, held a hearing for the business owners. At the conclusion of the hearing, the officer ordered the business to be closed via an administrative order for six days.

Recent incidents in the south

Approximately ten days ago, a brawl occurred at the "G-Hotel" in Eilat. According to investigators, a group of young people took over a seating area at the hotel pool and threw the victim's personal belongings aside. They subsequently beat the victim with fists and kicks. The victim required medical treatment and was evacuated by Magen David Adom to the hospital, suffering from broken teeth and severe bruising.

The investigation also revealed that during the confrontation, one of the suspects threatened the complainant with death. Following their arrest, a substance suspected to be a crystal-type dangerous drug, not intended for personal use, was seized from one of the suspects at the scene.
