A new hospital opens in Israel: one of the largest and most advanced in the country
Assuta is inaugurating the first stage of its new complex in Rishon LeZion, which will span approximately 35,000 square meters and offer advanced medical services, innovative laboratories, and exclusive protected systems for residents.
The new hospital currently under construction by Assuta in Rishon LeZion is set to open in early 2027, promising to be one of the most advanced and innovative medical facilities in Israel. Spanning approximately 35,000 square meters, the hospital will be nearly five times the size of Assuta's current facility in the city, significantly expanding medical access for residents of the Shfela, the center, and the south. The project represents an investment of approximately half a billion shekels.
On Wednesday, a ceremony marked the opening of the first stage: "Assuta Mumchim" ("Assuta Experts"), a consultative medicine center that has already begun operations. The center brings together experts in gastroenterology, urology, orthopedics, general surgery, bariatrics, and gynecology under one roof.
A Comprehensive Medical Campus
The launch of "Assuta Mumchim" is the first milestone in establishing a premier medical campus. Upon full completion, the hospital will provide public medical services to members of all HMOs, alongside private services for insurance policyholders—the only facility in the Shfela region to offer such a dual-service model.
The new hospital will feature seven advanced, protected operating rooms, an intensive care unit, a state-of-the-art imaging system, and a dedicated, protected floor for fertility services. It will also house institutes for dialysis, sleep medicine, phototherapy, pulmonology, and ophthalmology, all utilizing cutting-edge technology.
Prof. Yehoshua (Shuki) Shemer, Chairman of the Board of Assuta Medical Centers, stated:
"Assuta's goal is to provide accurate, safe, and high-quality medicine. Today we are inaugurating stage A of the hospital campus, a place that will provide compassionate care and save lives."
Smart Technology and Emergency Readiness
The hospital is being built as a "smart," paperless facility, leveraging advanced 5G communication infrastructure and artificial intelligence. Operating rooms will be equipped with robotics and multimedia systems designed to enhance safety and prevent infections.
Three centers of excellence will anchor the hospital's surgical activity:

A spine surgery center using minimally invasive endoscopic techniques.

A joint replacement center utilizing robotic surgery.

A urological center operating on a 'One Stop Shop' format for seamless diagnosis and treatment.
All critical areas, including operating rooms, the IVF laboratory, and the dialysis center, are built according to Home Front Command guidelines to ensure continuous operation during emergencies. The facility, located near the Aleph complex, also incorporates green building principles and includes underground parking, a commercial area, and a synagogue, with the project expected to create over 150 jobs.
