Senior Hamas official eliminated in Deir al-Balah
The 'Asharq Al-Awsat' newspaper revealed that Wael Musa al-Dawi, eliminated in an IDF strike in the central Gaza Strip, was managing an operation to pursue militias and suspected Israeli collaborators. Another police commander was also killed in the strike.
The Saudi newspaper 'Asharq Al-Awsat' reported today, Sunday, new details regarding the head of the Hamas internal security apparatus in the central Gaza Strip, who was eliminated in Deir al-Balah.
According to sources in Gaza, the senior Hamas official Wael Musa al-Dawi had recently been managing an operation in coordination with several Palestinian apparatuses and terrorist organizations to pursue Gazan militias assisting Israel. This followed attacks carried out by the militias against terrorists within the organizations. According to the sources, al-Dawi was also responsible for pursuing suspects of spying for Israel and had recently worked on the arrests of several of them.
Earlier today, Hamas announced that al-Dawi (44) was eliminated in an IDF airstrike on a vehicle in the city of Deir al-Balah. Al-Dawi held an officer rank equivalent to a Colonel ('Aqid'). In the same strike, another officer with a rank equivalent to a Major ('Ra'id') from the terrorist organization's police apparatus, named Ramez Tawfiq Abu Zurik (49), was eliminated.
At the end of the week, another senior official in the Hamas police apparatus was eliminated.
