Maayan Sherman, the mother of Ron Sherman who was abducted and killed in Hamas captivity, has demanded that government ministers and local council representatives from Lehavim refrain from attending the upcoming memorial service marking three years since her son's death. This request follows her recent protest against National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's visit to the town.

In a social media post, Sherman stated that government representatives and Lehavim council members are unwelcome at the memorial. She criticized the council for allowing Ben Gvir to enter the town, accusing the minister of boasting that he prevented Ron's return from captivity.

Last Tuesday, Ben Gvir attended an Otzma Yehudit party conference in Lehavim. Approximately 70 demonstrators gathered to protest his visit, including Sherman, who vehemently attacked the minister over his opposition to hostage release deals.

"You are requested not to come: all voters of the massacre government and its emissaries, and representatives of the Lehavim council who allowed a minister who boasts about preventing Ron's return to enter our town," Sherman wrote. In the invitation to the memorial marking three years since his death, she wrote: "Three years since the execution of our Ron Sherman by Netanyahu and his government of massacre and draft dodgers."
