Eilat resident stole a truck and drove to the Hebron Hills without a license
A 58-year-old man is accused of stealing a truck in Eilat and embarking on a long drive along Highway 90. Police located and arrested the suspect days later, charging him with vehicle theft, driving without a valid license, and operating a vehicle without insurance.

An indictment was filed on Tuesday against a 58-year-old resident of Eilat who stole a truck from the city and drove it to the southern Hebron Hills area, despite never having obtained a driver's license for that type of vehicle.
The incident began when an Iveco truck parked in the HaSadeh quarter of Eilat was taken by the defendant. He started the vehicle and began a long drive north on Highway 90 toward the southern Hebron Hills. The journey was conducted without a truck driver's license or mandatory insurance.
A few days after the theft, police officers located and arrested the suspect in Eilat. During interrogation, it was confirmed that he had operated the heavy truck without any training or legal authorization. The prosecution unit of the Eilat police district filed the indictment, charging him with vehicle theft, driving without a license appropriate for the vehicle type, and driving without insurance.
