Moments after finishing a performance of the show 'The Sixteenth Sheep' and consuming alcohol, the singer got behind the wheel on the Ayalon Highway, swerved from his lane, and confused the gas pedal with the brake. The incident resulted in a serious chain-reaction accident involving eight vehicles and six people sustaining light injuries. Gov did not attempt to evade responsibility, admitted during his interrogation to driving under the influence, and accepted full accountability for his actions.
The initial legal proceedings concluded at the Traffic Court in Tel Aviv as part of a plea bargain. The court sentenced the artist to a fine of 3,000 shekels, a two-year revocation of his driver's license, and suspended sentences for both license revocation and imprisonment. This settlement marks a significant step in closing the financial accounts related to the accident, adding to the personal and public price Gov has already paid.
