Trump: "We may strike Mount Mahosh very soon"

US President Donald Trump addressed the confrontation with Iran and claimed that despite the American strikes and the soldiers who were killed, he does not define what is happening as a war.

"Many people don't call it a war. I call it a military confrontation, because for us it's a small matter. It's not a big thing," he said while answering questions in the Oval Office.

When asked how he explains the recent resumption of strikes to the American public, Trump made a comparison to previous conflicts: "We did Venezuela, and we did it. In Venezuela we didn't lose anyone, and in this we lost 18 people. In Vietnam you lost 100,000 people, and in other confrontations you lost tens of thousands. I would say it's intermittent. We are conducting strikes intermittently."

Later, Trump addressed the remarks of his vice president, J.D. Vance, who stated that the United States is not at war with Iran. "I can understand what he's saying. It's a military confrontation, but it's very intermittent. I can understand that someone wouldn't call it a war," he said, adding that there is no actual fighting taking place at the moment.

When a reporter pressed him, noting the death of 18 American service members and the prolonged deployment of forces, Trump returned to the comparison with Vietnam: "How long were we in Vietnam? You're talking about records. We've been here five months now. And you know what we did in five months? They will not have nuclear weapons."

Trump added that the United States maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz: "We're producing a lot of oil. We control the Strait of Hormuz, and we control it very strongly. We attacked certain areas around the Strait of Hormuz. We destroyed their radar."

Furthermore, the president threatened another attack if it turns out that Iran continues activity at one of the sites currently under US surveillance: "We may strike Mount Mahosh very soon, if it turns out that something is happening there."
