Trump Denies Ammunition Shortage and Threatens Iran — Tehran Responds with Disdain
The US President claimed in a conversation with the Wall Street Journal that the US has "much more ammunition than we need." At the same time, Trump published a series of AI images on Truth Social hinting at his intention to target Kharg Island. Iran responded: "Too hot for you, softie, go back to your air conditioner."
US President Donald Trump denied reports overnight (between Sunday and Monday) that the American ammunition stockpile is running low as part of the fighting against Iran.
"We have much more ammunition than anyone else in the world, and much more than we need," Trump said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
Despite Trump's denials, senior officials in the White House raised concerns regarding the stock of Patriot and THAAD interceptors remaining in the hands of the US military since the outbreak of the war with Iran. According to current estimates published in recent weeks, the US military has used at least 1,500 Patriot missiles so far, leaving only about a thousand missiles in the stockpiles. Security experts raised the concern that the US will face a critical shortage if it requires munitions in other arenas.
In parallel with the denials, Trump shared on his Truth Social account a series of AI images with direct threats to Iranian energy infrastructure. Among other things, Trump uploaded an image showing fighter jets bombing an oil facility, alongside the caption: "Attack on Kharg Island" — which is considered the main oil export hub of the Islamic Republic. Later, Trump published several more images under the caption "This oil tanker is ours now!". In other images, Trump is seen holding the US flag on an Iranian ship. In one version, American soldiers were integrated into the image, and in another version, figures appearing to be Iranian religious leaders appeared alongside them. Afterwards, he uploaded another post showing an explosion of an Iranian ship, under the caption "No more engines".
In Iran, they responded to Trump's words with disdain. The Mehr news agency uploaded a video showing an American soldier crawling out of a crashed helicopter. Then an Iranian soldier appears drinking tea with the caption in the background: "Too hot for you, softie. Go back to your air conditioner". The agency also wrote that "Kharg Island is too hot for those who are not islanders, go back to your island".
