A 30-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured overnight between Friday and Saturday after being struck by a car on HaCongress Street in Tel Aviv. According to preliminary findings, the driver fled the scene without stopping to render assistance to the injured victim.

Police officers and traffic investigators quickly arrived at the location following a distress call to the 100 emergency hotline. Paramedics administered initial medical treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to a hospital, where medical staff rated his condition as serious.

Following a swift investigation aided by municipal security units, law enforcement officers tracked down and arrested the suspected driver, a man in his 40s. A breathalyzer test administered to the suspect revealed an alcohol concentration of 500 micrograms, confirming that he was driving under the influence.
