Tel Aviv Energy Stocks Surge in 2026 Led by Stark Power and Refineries
Tel Aviv energy stocks surge over 128% in 2026, led by Stark Power's 472% jump, oil explorations, and refinery developments amid infrastructure expansion.

Energy and oil and gas exploration stocks on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange are delivering some of the most notable yields of 2026. The top five shares and participation units in the sector have recorded increases of over 128% since the beginning of the year.
However, entirely different stories lie behind these surges, ranging from investments in power plants and energy infrastructure in the USA, through oil and gas exploration activities, to developments in the Israeli refining sector.
Stark Power Leads the Sector
Stark Power leads the ranking by a vast margin, with its stock skyrocketing by 472.36% since the beginning of the year. Founded by former executives of Nofar Energy and Enlight Renewable Energy, the company focuses on acquiring and developing power plants and energy infrastructure in the USA, alongside developing data center complexes with dedicated power supplies.
In early October, Stark reported signing an agreement to acquire an active 262-megawatt power plant in Minnesota, USA, alongside an 80-megawatt electricity storage project with a capacity of 320 megawatt-hours. The transaction consideration may reach $43 million, with the storage project expected to begin operating in 2028.
According to company estimates, the two projects could generate representative annual revenues of $43-48 million and an EBITDA of $30-33 million. These forecasts depend on the completion of the transaction and the operation of the projects, rather than already achieved results.
In late September, Stark also announced an agreement for a credit and guarantee facility from Bank Hapoalim totaling $85 million, designed to support project acquisitions and expand its operations in the USA.
Oil and Gas Exploration Partnerships
Givot Olam participation units rank second with a yield of 255.48% since the beginning of the year. Givot is a veteran partnership in Israeli oil exploration, primarily identified with its operations in the Rosh HaAyin area and the Meged project. Despite the sharp increase, trading volume stood at only about 289,000 NIS, requiring caution in interpreting the rise.
Modiin Energy ranks third with a 239.35% increase since the beginning of the year. Operating in oil and gas exploration, its activities also include projects in the USA. On Monday, participation units rose by 0.22% on a volume of about 161,000 NIS.
Developments in the Refining Sector
Israel Petrochemical Enterprises ranks fourth with a 148.53% increase, driven largely by its holding in Bazan, which operates the refineries in Haifa. Meanwhile, Oil Refineries Ashdod closes out the top five with a 128.98% surge.
A central narrative surrounding Ashdod Refineries in recent months is the potential change in its control structure. Shapir Engineering sought to acquire control, but the move faced opposition from the Concentration Committee. In early October, it was reported that the Ministry of Energy supports advancing the deal, contrary to the committee's stance.
