Channel 14 Launches Tehillim Initiative for Rosh Hashanah
Channel 14's "Tehillim for a Good Year" initiative sees high turnout as readers claim Psalms ahead of Rosh Hashanah, engaging in a communal prayer tradition.
A moving response has been recorded for the "Tehillim for a Good Year" initiative launched by Channel 14. Shortly after its launch, dozens of complete Books of Psalms were claimed by readers ahead of Rosh Hashanah.
Within the framework of the initiative, each participant can choose individual chapters, one of the five books of Psalms, or commit to reading the entire Book of Psalms. Once chapters are selected, they are temporarily blocked from other participants, and upon completion of a full cycle, a new round begins.
Throughout generations, Jewish communities have maintained the custom of increasing the recitation of Psalms during Rosh Hashanah—the Days of Judgment that determine the course of the coming year. This project allows everyone to partake in a communal reading effort, even by taking on just a single chapter.
Public members are invited to join the initiative, select their portion of the reading, and welcome the New Year with a shared prayer for a good, sweet, and blessed year.
