Tal Meir was surprised on air – and couldn't believe her eyes: "No way"

A particularly moving moment occurred on Thursday during the program "Israel This Morning," when Channel 14 presenter Tal Meir recognized her nephew, Eitan, live on air as he arrived at the induction center ahead of his enlistment in the Paratroopers Brigade:

"A huge hug from the studio. We are with you in our hearts."

According to him, the war pushed him to reach "as combat-oriented as possible and as high as possible."

Later, he took the opportunity to thank his family: "For the support that came both before the enlistment and now at the induction center." He also shared his feelings just before putting on the olive-colored uniform: "I am very excited to take part in this significant process, especially now during wartime, to be a link in the chain of generations, proud to be part of the Paratroopers Brigade."

A particularly amusing moment came when Meir asked her nephew "if he dared to think about enlisting in Golani?", and while her nephew replied firmly "no," she said with a smile: "Well, obviously, a family of paratroopers. No way. He would have gotten into trouble with his father and grandfather, he probably wouldn't have been able to enter the house." In the end, she concluded emotionally: "Even the little nephew is becoming a soldier, who would have believed it?".

Later, another recruit to the paratroopers, Roi Am Shalem, said that he is coming to service with a sense of mission: "I came to do the work, to go through the training, and to enter combat as quickly as possible. I think I will have many challenges in many respects on a religious level; after all, I am a religious recruit in a regular platoon. Also on a social level, there are large gaps – but I will overcome everything."
