Hunter Schafer recently opened up about her gender-affirming bottom surgery in a candid interview with ELLE magazine. The 27-year-old "Euphoria" star reflected on the decision she made following years of careful contemplation, the demanding recovery process, and how happy she feels with the outcome.

The Journey to Self-Acceptance

Schafer shared that she underwent the procedure in December, describing it as an amazing experience. For a long time, she tried to embrace her body as it was, finding a sense of empowerment in challenging conventional definitions.

"For a long time, I embraced the part of my identity that fell outside standard gender categories, and I really wanted to try to make my old body work for me," Schafer told the magazine.

Recovery and Evolving Identity

Having started her gender transition at age 14, Schafer rented a spacious apartment earlier this year to rest and host loved ones during her recovery. Confined to strict physical limits—including a maximum of 150 steps a day—she leaned on her support system of friends and family.

As her career progresses, Schafer is set to star alongside Michelle Yeoh in the upcoming Prime Video series "Blade Runner 2099", scheduled to premiere on November 25.
