A shift is underway in the right-wing and sectoral press: the editorial board of the weekly 'Olam Katan' has announced that columnist and media personality Yedidya Meir is joining its permanent writing staff. His new column is set to debut in the upcoming Sabbath issue, appearing simultaneously in the printed edition distributed in synagogues and across all of the weekly's digital platforms.
Yedidya Meir is widely considered one of the most familiar and influential voices within Israel's religious and Haredi media landscape. Throughout his extensive career, Meir has developed a unique style that blends op-eds, satire, and current affairs, alongside his prominent work in broadcasting.
Today, Meir is known to the general public for his popular morning show, 'Hit'orerut' ('Awakening'), broadcast on Radio Kol Hai, as well as his role as a regular panelist on the prime-time program 'The Patriots' on Channel 14.
Recruiting Meir is not a one-off move, but a clear sign of the large-scale expansion strategy the weekly has been pursuing. Starting this coming Sabbath, 'Olam Katan' will grow significantly, reaching an unprecedented volume of over 80 pages per week.
His arrival follows the recruitment of several other leading writers. The overarching goal of this move is to broaden the scope of content, diversify opinions, and provide readers with a richer, more in-depth journalistic experience.
The 'Olam Katan' editorial board stated:
