Surprising: Channel 14 panelist enters politics, joining MK who left Netanyahu
Businessman and security analyst Lt. Col. (res.) Roi Danino is joining the "Israel Techila" ("Israel First") party led by MK Sharren Haskel. Danino, who served over 600 days of reserve duty, will focus on promoting solutions for small businesses and reducing regulation.
Lt. Col. (res.) Roi Danino, a security and economic analyst on Channel 14 and Kan 11, is joining the "Israel Techila" ("Israel First") party, led by MK Sharren Haskel.
Danino (40), married and a father of five, is a division staff officer who served in the Nahal Brigade, and is an entrepreneur and businessman. During the war, Danino served over 600 days of reserve duty.
Today, Danino advises defense and municipal companies, and promotes practical solutions for removing regulation, reducing taxes, and lowering the cost of living, alongside strengthening national resilience. As part of his civic activity, he voluntarily assists reservists and business owners who have been economically affected.
"After more than 600 days in the field and in reserves, I understood that the mission does not end when you take off the uniform. I chose to join MK Haskel because she represents clean and substantive leadership that puts the good of the country before any interest. I am proud to be part of building the alternative that Israel deserves," said Lt. Col. (res.) Roi Danino.

MK Sharren Haskel stated:
"Roi comes to us straight from the field - from the gears of the economy and from the front fighting for our existence. He represents an entire generation that is tired of seeing the political extortion surrounding the draft exemption law and the price paid again and again by those who serve, work, and carry the burden."
Haskel, who began her political path in the Knesset with Likud, left the movement at the time and joined Gideon Sa'ar in the "New Hope" party, which merged with Likud following Gideon Sa'ar's decision to join the coalition.

Shortly before the end of the Knesset term, Haskel announced her resignation as Deputy Foreign Minister and from the "National Right" faction, against the backdrop of her opposition to promoting the draft exemption law. Days later, she announced the establishment of the "Israel Techila" party.
Today (Sunday), Haskel arrived at the Lahav 433 offices of the police for open testimony, following the affidavit she submitted to the Supreme Court in which she claimed that Knesset members from her faction were required to document their vote for the State Comptroller - and present it to Likud representatives.
Following gaps between her version and affidavits submitted on behalf of the Likud party, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and State Attorney Amit Aisman ordered her to be summoned to provide testimony, in order to examine whether false affidavits were submitted to the Supreme Court in the affair.
