With just four days remaining until the 2026 Knesset elections, the Central Election Committee has ordered the Likud party to remove controversial campaign billboards linking rival politicians.

Billboard Removal Order

Supreme Court Justice and Central Election Committee Chairman Noam Solberg ordered Likud to dismantle billboards across the country featuring Gadi Eisenkot alongside MK Mansour Abbas and MK Ahmad Tibi. The Yashar! party filed an urgent petition arguing that the campaign materials violated election propaganda laws.

Solberg ruled that the signs could mislead voters regarding political alliances. Furthermore, the Arabic-language text on the posters failed to properly identify the sponsor, as they were placed in predominantly non-Arabic-speaking areas. Likud was instructed to remove all such billboards.

Criticism of Yashar! Campaign Tactics

At the same time, Justice Solberg addressed a petition filed by Likud regarding recruitment-style letters sent out by Yashar!. Solberg noted that while the petition itself was technically rendered moot because the letters had already been dispatched, the method employed potentially violates election propaganda regulations.

Solberg stated that such letters sent during wartime could cause recipients momentary panic before realizing their true nature, quoting biblical verse to emphasize the psychological impact.

Solberg ordered Yashar! to cover legal expenses of 2,000 shekels to Likud and an additional 4,000 shekels to the state treasury.
