Former Public Diplomacy Official Sues Prime Minister's Office for 122,000 Shekels
Ilana Stein is suing the Prime Minister's Office for 122,000 shekels at the Herzliya Magistrate's Court, claiming she was never paid for her service as head of the international arena division.

Ilana Stein, who was recruited as head of the international arena division at the National Public Diplomacy Directorate following the Iron Swords War, is suing the Prime Minister's Office for 122,000 shekels. In a lawsuit filed at the Herzliya Magistrate's Court, she claims she never received a salary for her work.
The lawsuit states: "The plaintiff is a renowned expert with rich experience in international public diplomacy, spokesmanship, and media. Against the backdrop of her unique expertise, and given the unprecedented public diplomacy and security challenges faced by the State of Israel following the events of October 7, the defendant approached the plaintiff and offered her to join the activities of the National Public Diplomacy Directorate."
The lawsuit adds that her role was of supreme national and strategic importance, requiring her to manage Israel's public diplomacy efforts with foreign media and represent the state before international entities. Stein claims she served until May 2024 and was never paid, while the State Attorney's Office has yet to submit a statement of defense.
