How many times have you listened to a fascinating podcast, heard a wise sentence or a compelling story, and wanted to save it to listen to again or share with friends? Until now, you had to remember the exact minute of the broadcast or scroll through a long episode in hopes of finding the right spot. Spotify has now introduced a simple solution to save you time and effort.

How does the clip cutting tool work?

The new Spotify feature allows you to cut and save specific clips from podcasts directly to your account. To use it, open the app, play the desired podcast, and move to the full player screen by tapping the bottom bar. Below the player controls, you will find a new scissors icon that leads directly to the app's editing interface.

Alternatively, you can reach the editing tool by tapping the share button and selecting the option to edit the start and end points. Once in the editing screen, you will see a green box highlighting the current segment. By dragging the sliders, you can precisely select the portion you wish to capture and save.

Saving and sharing with ease

Once you have selected the exact segment, a simple tap on the save button will send it to your clips folder, located under the 'Library' category. If you choose the share option, tap 'Continue' and select your preferred app to send the clip to friends. The sharing tool allows you to send a specific segment, a full episode, or a precise timestamp.

This new feature is fully available to both free-tier users and Spotify Premium subscribers. Your favorite podcast moments, from true crime stories to pop culture, are now waiting for you in one organized place.
