South Korea's exports have reached 930 billion dollars in the first ten months of the year, with Seoul projecting that the milestone of one trillion dollars will be crossed during November. Should this happen, South Korea will become the fourth country in the world to reach such a volume, following the United States, China, and Germany.

Chip manufacturers are providing a major boost to the economy. Exports in this sector totaled 56.44 billion dollars in October, marking a significant surge as global tech companies continue to invest heavily in infrastructure for the artificial intelligence race. Computer hardware data also showed extraordinary figures, with overseas sales driven by a soaring demand for servers used in AI services. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix reported increases in profits, and the South Korean economy grew faster than expected in the third quarter.

South Korean goods flowed in large volumes to all major markets in October. Exports to the United States rose sharply, alongside significant gains in shipments to China, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Overall, exports reached 115.28 billion dollars in October, representing the highest pace recorded in decades and surpassing consensus forecasts.

The sharp rise in economic activity was also reflected in imported goods. Imports totaled 72.78 billion dollars, driven by higher oil prices and purchases of chip manufacturing equipment and vehicles. Despite the surge in imports, the country maintained a substantial trade surplus, which stood at 42.5 billion dollars in October following a record high the previous month.
