Australian pop star Sia has sold 50% of her music catalog to investment firm Pophouse for a staggering $180 million, according to documents obtained by TMZ. Out of this total, $165 million will be paid directly to the singer, though her recent divorce from Dan Bernad means she will have to part with a portion of it for her ex-husband.

A significant share of her hits were written prior to her marriage to Bernad, meaning he has no claim over them. Bernad agreed to waive any claims to the $165 million in exchange for a one-time payment of $1 million from Sia, leaving her with a hefty $164 million from that portion. Meanwhile, the remaining $15 million, tied to songs written while the couple was married, has been placed into a trust. If they fail to reach an agreement on how to divide these funds, the matter will be settled in court.

Sia filed for divorce from Bernad last year. Following months of legal proceedings, she recently agreed to pay him $42,500 a month in child support for their son, who was born in 2024. This massive deal joins a growing trend of major catalog acquisitions in the music industry, echoing similar multi-million dollar sales by artists like Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, and Justin Bieber.

Pophouse, a Swedish firm co-founded by ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus and EQT founder Conny Jonsson, continues to expand its impressive portfolio. The company previously acquired rights to the music and likeness of the late Tina Turner, alongside investments involving Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, and Cyndi Lauper.
