Academy Award-winning director and screenwriter Spike Lee was caught on video involved in a heated confrontation with a baseball fan outside Yankee Stadium, which nearly escalated to physical violence. According to footage shared across social media, the clash erupted after the fan shouted a provocative political remark regarding Palestine.
The incident took place ahead of the baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox while the famed filmmaker was dining and interacting with supporters. According to Fox Sports reporter Andy Slater, amid numerous selfie requests, one fan demanded he voice an anti-Palestinian slur, triggering Lee's fury.
Bystanders quickly stepped in to hold Lee back before he could physically confront the individual, who was subsequently ejected from the premises. Representatives for Spike Lee have not yet responded to requests for comment from the New York Post.
