Shlomo Filber reveals the "offer you can't refuse" that was rejected on Channel 14

Shlomo Filber claimed yesterday, Sunday, in an interview with Yaara Zered that about four years ago, a few hours before the publication of election exit polls, a phone call was received in the studio in which they were made what he defined as "an offer you can't refuse," but it was rejected outright.

The former Director General of the Ministry of Communications called the move a "pollsters' cartel" and claimed that they were offered to join the coordination between pollsters in exchange for appearing together on screen, with the coordination not being limited to the polls published during the election campaign.

Filber explained that pollsters seek to avoid results that differ from others, which would require them to provide explanations: "No one wants to be an outlier, no one wants to be exceptional, no one wants to give explanations. So they always align with each other."

To illustrate his claim, Filber compared the work of pollsters to the way intelligence was analyzed prior to October 7. He claimed that observer 'V' was not exposed to unique information, but to the same data available to the largest and most sophisticated systems in Israel: "All the geniuses of Aman analyzed X and she analyzed Y, and in the end we know who was right. We all see the same signals. The question is how each one interpreted them."
