Sharon Gal under fire: "Idiot, pathetic person and sycophant. Are you even a journalist?"

Writer and poet Eyal Megged, a former friend of Benjamin Netanyahu, was a guest on Sharon Gal's program on i24NEWS, where he criticized the Prime Minister's approach to governing the country. Megged further claimed that Benjamin Netanyahu would not accept a loss in the upcoming elections and would act to prevent them from taking place.

During the interview, the veteran author accused the Prime Minister of acting like a dictator and stated that he intends to "destroy the country":

"This makes him a dictator who thinks that if the State of Israel tells him 'no' and removes him from power, then he is not interested in this country. These are not slogans; he wants to destroy the country, look around you. He is already doing it."

Gal, an ardent supporter of the Prime Minister, argued that Benjamin Netanyahu and his government are responsible for a long list of achievements in recent years. Megged disagreed, noting with irony:

"There are great successes, right?! Sure, we are very successful, everywhere. Iran is really on the ropes. Hamas is on the ropes. I am not speaking in slogans. I predicted this a few months ago: he will destroy the country because he will not accept his loss in the elections. He will not let the elections happen. You will test me and you will see."

Megged recently made headlines following an interview on the Knesset Channel's "Change of Direction" podcast, where he discussed the price of his past friendship with Benjamin Netanyahu and the harsh backlash he received from the left, stating that in that camp, "there is no forgiveness for someone who is a friend of Bibi."

During the i24NEWS broadcast, the writer sharply attacked Sharon Gal:

"Anyone who is a friend of Bibi after October 7, like you for example, is an idiot. I saw you yesterday, you are an idiot."

Gal replied:

"I will not descend to your level, Eyal Megged, and to this low style. I think the viewers understand who the real idiot is and who the 'useful idiot' is, getting it from both sides. When friendship is not a value but a tool, at a certain stage it doesn't fit, and you end up getting another slap."

Megged responded in anger:

"You will teach me style?! Stop preaching morality to me. You are a dirty channel, a polluted channel. You don't have a single drop of respect for your profession. Are you even a journalist? I saw your face in front of Bibi in a podcast you did; what flattery, aren't you ashamed? Pathetic person and sycophant."
