Shin Bet and Israel Police announced the arrest of Muhammad Fahmi Muhammad Khalaf, a 25-year-old resident of Baqa al-Gharbiya, on suspicion of communicating with Iranian intelligence and carrying out paid tasks under their direction.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office is expected to file an indictment against him in the Haifa District Court for offenses related to contact with a foreign agent.

Khalaf, an Israeli citizen, was investigated as part of a joint operation by Shin Bet, investigators from the Asher Regional Yamar, and the cyber unit in Lahav 433. According to the announcement, the investigation revealed that he maintained online contact with a hostile entity and performed a series of tasks for money.

Shin Bet and the police noted that this is another case in which Iranian intelligence recruited Israeli citizens to promote terrorist activities against Israel. The joint investigation concluded after establishing an evidentiary foundation against the suspect.
