Segev Shalom Resident Arrested in Bethlehem with 187,000 Suspected Drug Pills
A 48-year-old resident of Segev Shalom was arrested in Bethlehem with over 187,000 suspected drug pills, including Captagon and Tramadol, valued at over 10 million shekels.
A 48-year-old resident of Segev Shalom was arrested after being caught in Bethlehem with over 187,000 suspected drug tablets valued at more than 10 million shekels.
Among the seized items were more than 170,000 tablets suspected to be Captagon, a drug frequently used by terror operatives, alongside over 17,000 tablets suspected to be Tramadol.
The suspect was apprehended on Monday evening by the Palestinian Police in Area A of Bethlehem while possessing a massive quantity of suspected narcotics and dangerous substances.
Following the arrest, the Bethlehem police commander within the Judea and Samaria District Coordination and Liaison Administration coordinated with Palestinian counterparts to transfer the suspect to the Israel Police.
After completing the necessary arrangements, the suspect was handed over to officers at the Etzion police station in the Judea sub-district. Representatives of the IDF Coordination and Liaison Administration also participated in the operation.
The suspect was transferred for questioning at the Etzion station on suspicion of drug offenses and entering Area A unlawfully. He is expected to appear in court for a remand hearing.
