Israeli security forces seized an M16 assault rifle, a handgun, and a military-grade stun grenade during a joint raid in Nablus over the weekend. The operation, conducted overnight between Thursday and Friday, targeted a suspected weapons trafficking ring and illegal arms cache concealed inside a residential building.
The raid was executed following precise intelligence provided by the Israel Prison Service (IPS), which indicated that weapons were being stored and traded at the location. The combined force comprised troops from the IDF Samaria Regional Brigade, Shin Bet, and specialized IPS units.
During the thorough search, aided by an IPS canine unit, forces also recovered various weapon accessories, including a rifle sight and a grip, alongside approximately 9,000 shekels in cash. Two suspects were arrested at the scene and transferred to security agencies for further interrogation regarding their involvement in arms smuggling.
