The Israel Defense Forces Personnel Directorate has announced the expansion of its "Mechinot HaZnak" preparation program, which aims to ready young recruits for military service. According to military data released, more than 2,600 young people from across the country have already participated in the initiative.

As part of the program, a dedicated preparatory course was established for recruits heading to the Kfir Brigade. Enrollment for the second cycle of this specialized course has now begun, just weeks before the conclusion of the inaugural session.

The preparation tracks are designed to provide inductees with a short, focused framework prior to their official enlistment. The curriculum combines physical conditioning, mental resilience training, familiarization with military structures, personal skills development, and leadership training.

Operating under the "12th Year" initiative—part of the Manpower Directorate's broader "Etz HaSadeh" program in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense's Social-Defense Division—the courses are financed through joint ventures with designated operators.

Lt. Col. Eitan Dana, project manager for the "Lavi" preparatory course and head of the Ofek Branch, emphasized that the program provides recruits with a broader foundation for their service. "Lavi is much more than preparation for combat service; it is a process of building a warrior identity and instilling values of camaraderie, leadership, and professionalism," he stated.
