Without tickets, with an electronic cigarette: Four minors indicted for assaulting a movie theater usher
The 19-year-old usher asked them to stop smoking and leave the hall, after which he was attacked with punches and kicks. Police have filed an indictment against the four and requested their detention until the end of the proceedings.
Following the assault incident that occurred at a movie theater in Rehovot on July 19, 2026, an indictment was filed against four minors, residents of the central region, suspected of violently attacking a young usher at the venue.
Immediately after the incident, the Rehovot station in the Shfela district opened an investigation. Within a short time, investigators managed to identify the suspects, locate them, and arrest them. Subsequently, in accordance with the court's decision, the minors were released to house arrest under restrictive conditions.
According to the indictment, filed on Tuesday by the police prosecution unit of the Central District, the four individuals entered the theater without purchasing tickets and smoked electronic cigarettes during the film screening, disturbing other viewers.
The usher, a 19-year-old resident of Rehovot, approached them and asked them to stop smoking and leave the hall. In response, according to the indictment, the teenagers attacked him violently, striking him in the face and body with kicks and punches.
As a result of the attack, the usher was evacuated to the Kaplan Medical Center suffering from severe facial injuries, a hemorrhage in his eye, a broken nose, a nosebleed requiring stitches, and other injuries to his mouth.
Upon completion of the investigation, the Shfela prosecution branch filed an indictment against the four for causing grievous bodily harm under aggravating circumstances and criminal trespassing. Simultaneously, a request was filed for their detention until the end of the proceedings.
