Samsung in a Surprising Announcement: A Move to Transform the Crypto World
Samsung is opening a new door to the crypto world by integrating stablecoin support into its Galaxy devices. This move could fundamentally change how millions of users manage money and make payments.

Following the launch of its latest models, the technology giant Samsung has announced a strategic move that could reshape the future of digital payments: the integration of stablecoin support within the built-in digital wallet on its Galaxy devices. This initiative is expected to make digital currencies accessible to hundreds of millions of users worldwide, turning them into an everyday tool comparable to credit cards or other digital payment methods.
The announcement was made during the company's 'Unpacked' conference in London, where Samsung revealed that the Samsung Wallet app will expand beyond storing credit cards and personal information to support digital assets. The company's product manager noted that the goal is to provide consumers with easier access to new forms of digital value.
The primary significance of this move lies in its potential to change how consumers and businesses conduct transactions. Unlike volatile assets such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, stablecoins are designed to maintain relative stability by pegging to assets like the US dollar. This allows them to be used for transfers and payments without the high volatility that characterizes much of the crypto market.
Despite the announcement, several questions remain. During the conference demonstration, a balance of USDC, one of the world's largest stablecoins, was displayed, yet Samsung has not officially confirmed its partners or the specific currencies to be supported at launch. Furthermore, the company has not yet disclosed the countries where the service will be available or the exact timeline for a public rollout.
This development follows years of Samsung gradually building its infrastructure in the crypto space. In 2019, the company launched Knox, a dedicated security system for protecting cryptographic keys, and in recent years, it has deepened its cooperation with the crypto exchange Coinbase. The integration of stablecoins may be the next step toward making digital assets an integral part of the smartphone user experience.
