Samsung announces the new Galaxy S26 FE
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S26 FE, a device offering flagship-level specs at a more accessible price point. It features the Exynos 2500 chip, One UI 9, and new AI-powered software capabilities.
Samsung unveiled today (Thursday) the Galaxy S26 FE, a device intended to offer specifications close to the company's flagship S-series devices, but at a more accessible price for the general public. Although the external design remains very similar to the previous generation, Samsung has incorporated several interesting changes under the hood, alongside the One UI 9 user interface, which arrives for the first time in the series straight out of the box.
New processor
The most notable change in terms of hardware is the transition to the Exynos 2500 chip. The device comes with only 8 GB of RAM. This will likely be sufficient for basic use, but could prove to be a problem in cases where AI models require more local processing power on your phone or when you are working with multiple applications.
Regarding the display and battery, Samsung chose to barely touch what works. The device comes with a huge 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen that offers a fast refresh rate of 120 Hz. The battery remains at a capacity of 4,900mAh with support for 45W charging. The camera array also remains identical at the hardware level, including a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP wide-angle lens, a telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and the selfie camera has been upgraded from an 80-degree field of view to 85 degrees.
Software upgrade
The more significant upgrades are actually in the software. One of the prominent features is My FanCam, an AI-based video editing tool that identifies a selected object and continues to track it throughout the clip; Audio Eraser has also received an upgrade and now works in third-party applications, so you can mute background noise even in videos from YouTube or Netflix. Another useful addition is the Horizontal Lock stabilization mode, which keeps the video in a stable position even when you rotate the phone while recording.
The daily widget Now Brief has also been updated and now allows you to create personalized information cards powered by AI, to track weather, health data, or content from the sites you want. In addition, the upgraded Now Nudge, which was first introduced in the Z Flip 8 and Fold 8, also arrives, offering relevant actions based on the content of chats in applications – such as adding an event to the calendar or saving a location in Google Maps – provided you use the Samsung keyboard.
The device will be launched in Israel on September 11 in three colors: gray, blue, and green, with the recommended retail price standing at 2,299 NIS for the 128GB version, 2,649 NIS for the 256GB version, and 3,299 NIS for the 512GB version.
