Israeli Employees to Receive Over 5.5 Billion NIS in Rosh Hashanah Holiday Gifts
A new survey of 1,200 Israeli workplaces shows holiday gifts for Rosh Hashanah will total over 5.5 billion NIS. The Israel Airports Authority leads with gifts worth 1,400 NIS per employee.
Top Holiday Gift Rankings
Ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday, a new survey has revealed the holiday gift amounts that Israeli employees will receive. The Israel Airports Authority leads the rankings, with employees set to receive a holiday gift worth 1,400 NIS. Following closely are Elta Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), with 1,300 NIS per employee.
The total value of holiday gifts nationwide is estimated at over 5.5 billion NIS, according to Vaadim, the company that conducted the survey.
The survey, which covered more than 1,200 workplaces in Israel, highlights significant disparities in the amounts received by employees across different companies. While some organizations grant gifts exceeding 1,000 NIS, others provide as little as 200 NIS. Among the companies offering the lowest holiday gifts are Metropoline (250 NIS), Elbit Systems, and Cellcom (300 NIS).
Disparities also exist in the method of delivery. According to the survey, 30% of employees will receive a physical gift, while another 30% will receive gift cards for major retail chains. Only 5% of employees will have the gift amount deposited directly into their bank accounts.
Public Sector, Banking, and Insurance
Further down the list, Bank Yahav employees will receive a holiday gift worth 1,250 NIS. Jerusalem Municipality employees will enjoy 1,200 NIS, Tel Aviv Municipality workers will receive 1,075 NIS, and Israel Post employees will get 1,000 NIS, matching the amounts given by the Histadrut labor federation and the Teachers' Union.
In the financial sector, Max employees will receive 800 NIS, while Clal Insurance workers will get 700 NIS. Discount Bank and Bank Hapoalim employees will receive 600 NIS and 400 NIS, respectively.
Food, Retail, and High-Tech Sectors
Among food and leisure companies, Soglowek leads by granting its employees 1,100 NIS. Zara Group employees will receive 800 NIS, Osem workers will get 550 NIS, and employees of Gad Dairies and the Israeli Opera will receive 500 NIS.
Technology companies continue to offer substantial holiday gifts. Employees at SuperPlay and Genpact Israel will receive 1,000 NIS. Playtika workers will enjoy 950 NIS, and Resonetics employees will receive 750 NIS.
Additionally, Israel Railways employees will receive 840 NIS, Rafael and Ministry of Defense workers will get 750 NIS, Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff will receive 700 NIS, and Sderot Municipality employees will receive 600 NIS.

While apps offer freedom of choice, the fact that nearly a third of employees still receive a physical gift shows that even in the digital age, there is significant value in a gift you can actually unwrap."
