Former Maccabi Haifa Striker Dino Ndlovu Loses Millions in Failed Investment
Former Maccabi Haifa striker Dino Ndlovu lost nearly six million rand in a failed international business deal after Dubai-connected associates allegedly vanished with his funds.

Former Maccabi Haifa and Bnei Yehuda striker Dino Ndlovu has suffered a severe financial blow, losing nearly six million rand (approximately one million shekels) in a botched international business venture. The 36-year-old South African revealed that businessmen with ties to Dubai allegedly disappeared with his funds after he invested heavily in their enterprise.
The Failed Investment and Private Investigation
According to reports, Ndlovu invested over five million rand in a deal presented to him as a lucrative international opportunity. Once the capital was transferred, the individuals reportedly vanished. In an attempt to track them down and recover his losses, the former footballer hired a private investigator, paying an additional million rand for the services. This brought his total losses to nearly six million rand, though the exact circumstances and legal proceedings have not been independently verified.
Turning to Chrome Mining and Warning Young Entrepreneurs
Refusing to abandon his entrepreneurial ambitions, Ndlovu has shifted his focus to chrome mining investments in South Africa. His past business ventures include purchasing the Goodfellas nightclub, establishing the Legacy Lifestyle Lounge in Nelspruit, and involvement with the Casa Dela Villa guest house. Following his recent ordeal, Ndlovu warned young entrepreneurs to remain cautious of overly promising deals, emphasizing the critical importance of background checks, formal contracts, and legal counsel.
From Homelessness to Football Stardom
Ndlovu's life story is marked by resilience. As a young man trying out for Platinum Stars in Johannesburg, he lacked money for accommodation and spent nights sleeping in the restrooms of Park Station to attend training. He eventually turned professional, playing for Israeli clubs Bnei Yehuda and Maccabi Haifa before moving to Europe and Asia. One of his career peaks occurred in Azerbaijan with Qarabağ, where his crucial away goal against FC Copenhagen in the 2017 Champions League qualifiers helped the club reach the group stage for the first time in Azerbaijani history.
