Germany is investigating an act of sabotage against electricity infrastructure in the state of Brandenburg. According to German media reports, improvised explosive devices were found at the scene, and it is suspected that "improvised rockets" or pyrotechnic devices were used in the attack, which caused a temporary power outage at a substation serving the large "Jänschwalde" coal-fired power plant. Power has since been fully restored.
Police confirmed that at least one explosion occurred and that several power lines were damaged. The incident comes hours before the German government is expected to formally accuse Russia of involvement in a separate security breach last month, where an explosive drone was discovered near a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig Airport. German officials increasingly describe these events as part of a "hybrid war" intended to disrupt European transport and deter military aid to Ukraine.
Simultaneously, in Poland, Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński stated that a fire at the WB Electronics factory in Skarżysko-Kamienna—a facility producing drones for the Ukrainian army—was likely a deliberate act of sabotage. Polish prosecutors are investigating the involvement of "foreign intelligence agencies" in the blaze, which caused an estimated 15 million zlotys (approximately $4 million) in damages.
