American trading platform Robinhood has expanded its crypto operations, with new data pointing to a shift in its revenue streams. According to a report published by industry media on October 27, the company's crypto revenues reached 120 million dollars in the third quarter of 2026, marking a 20 percent increase compared to the previous quarter. However, the aggregate figure conceals a more complex picture, as a significant portion of the growth stemmed from the company's new blockchain network rather than traditional digital asset trading.

According to the report, the Robinhood blockchain network generated 26 million dollars in its first quarter following the public launch of the network on July 1. This blockchain network is based on Arbitrum, built to enable financial activity on decentralized infrastructure, including the trading of tokenized assets and the digital representation of traditional assets using blockchain technology. The company stated that during the quarter, trading activity exceeding 80 billion dollars was processed on decentralized exchanges within the network, generating fees exceeding 50 million dollars, though these figures pertain to overall network activity rather than direct corporate revenue.

At the same time, traditional crypto trading actually softened. Excluding the revenues from the new network, the company's revenues from digital asset transactions decreased by 6 percent compared to the second quarter, dropping to 94 million dollars. On an annual comparison, total crypto revenues remained 55 percent lower than the corresponding period in 2025, when the digital currency market was near its peak bullish run. Meanwhile, the volume of crypto trading across Robinhood and Bitstamp platforms rose by 23 percent from the previous quarter to 49.8 billion dollars, with 29.2 billion dollars passing through Bitstamp, the crypto exchange acquired by Robinhood last year.

The growth in crypto is not leading the company alone. Robinhood's prediction markets, where users can trade contracts related to event outcomes, generated 173 million dollars during the quarter, an 11 percent increase from the previous quarter, keeping revenues from this product higher than crypto income. The company reported overall total revenues of 1.42 billion dollars, a quarterly record and a 12 percent increase year-over-year, while net profit decreased by 14 percent to 476 million dollars, prompting a 5.5 percent drop in the company's stock price in after-hours trading.
