Escalation in Eastern and Western Neighborhoods
Late last night at approximately 22:15, a masked assailant riding an electric scooter opened fire with a burst of bullets targeting a luxury building on Jerusalem Street, inflicting heavy damage to the lobby before fleeing the scene. Large police forces arrived at the location to launch an investigation, though no arrests have been made so far. This followed an incident several weeks ago in the eastern Narkisim neighborhood, where fragmentation grenades were hurled and shots were fired at the lobby of a building on Sha'ar Yafo Street. Police arrested two suspects from the Jarushi crime family in connection with the attack, but both were released after a few days due to insufficient evidence.
Meanwhile, western Rishon LeZion has experienced similar violence. Several days ago, shots were fired at an apartment door on the sixth floor of a high-end tower in the upscale Aleph Compound, a residence belonging to an individual known to local law enforcement. Residents noted that a similar incident occurred about three months ago when four bullets were fired at the building's entrance door, one of which penetrated the living room of a resident's home.
