Stun Grenade Thrown at Crowded Rishon LeZion Restaurant as Musician Yoav Eliasi Dines
A stun grenade was hurled at a crowded Rishon LeZion restaurant where social media figure Yoav Eliasi was dining. Mistaking it for a terror attack, Eliasi drew his weapon as police launched a criminal probe.

A violent incident shook a crowded restaurant on Yaldei Teheran Street in Rishon LeZion on Sunday evening, when an unidentified suspect hurled a stun grenade into the establishment. The quiet dinner was abruptly disrupted as patrons fled in panic following a powerful blast.
Musician and social media personality Yoav Eliasi, widely known as "The Shadow", was dining at the restaurant at the time. Moments after the explosion, Eliasi took to social media to share his harrowing experience and the swift chain of events.
"Suddenly a person wearing a helmet arrives, throws a grenade at the restaurant and flees the scene. At that moment I was sure it was a terrorist attack," Eliasi recounted, describing his initial fear amid ongoing security threats.
Believing he faced an active terror threat, Eliasi drew his licensed firearm and rushed outside to neutralize the suspect. However, the assailant had already fled, leaping onto a waiting motorcycle parked nearby to escape within seconds.
In a video posted after emergency forces arrived, Eliasi appeared visibly shaken by the close call, expressing astonishment that a grenade was thrown precisely at the restaurant where he was sitting.
Fortunately, sappers confirmed the device was only a stun grenade, causing no lethal shrapnel. No injuries were reported, though the blast left diners deeply shaken.
Police in Rishon LeZion have launched an intensive investigation to track down the fleeing suspect, with the primary line of inquiry focusing on a criminal underworld dispute targeting the restaurant's owners.
