Rishon LeZion Mayor Traces Citywide Foul Odor to Illegal Fuel Waste Dumping
Rishon LeZion authorities identified the source of a foul odor plaguing the city as hazardous fuel and oil waste dumped into a sewage manhole in the western district.

Residents of Rishon LeZion experienced two days of foul odors across the city before authorities traced the source to a severe environmental hazard in the western part of the municipality. Mayor Raz Kinstlich announced that the stench originated from fuel and oil waste dumped directly into a sewage manhole.
The discovery followed intensive patrols conducted by municipal teams, the local water corporation Maniv, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the IDF Home Front Command. Officials took samples from the site, and specialized cleansing operations are scheduled for the coming days to neutralize the hazard.
Mayor Kinstlich thanked Home Front Command Chief Shai Kalper for deploying forces to assist with the search. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for illegally dumping the hazardous waste into the municipal sewage system.
