Reza Pahlavi Expresses Solidarity with Israel
Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi addressed Israeli citizens on Wednesday via the social media platform X, marking the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre. "I stand with you in grief, remembrance and solidarity," Pahlavi wrote on his official account. "We will never forget those murdered or the suffering of their families and the survivors."
Pahlavi, 65, is the eldest son of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Iran's last shah. Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, he has lived in exile in the United States, advocating for a secular democracy in Iran and building international opposition to the regime.
Strategic Alliance and Blame on Tehran
Throughout the ongoing conflict, Pahlavi has emerged as a vocal advocate for strategic ties with Israel, even visiting the country previously to meet with officials. In his recent statement, he directly linked regional terrorism to the domestic oppression faced by Iranians.
The Islamic Republic that armed and supported Hamas is the same regime that keeps Iranians in chains. When Iran is free, we will hold all those involved in these crimes accountable.
Historical Ties and Future Vision
Pahlavi concluded his message by highlighting the 2,500-year historical bond between Iranians and Jews, dating back to Cyrus the Great. He asserted that a free Iran will become a vital partner for Israel, emphasizing that regional peace depends entirely on the downfall of the current regime.
