Returning to the NBA: Lonnie Walker signs with the Denver Nuggets
The Maccabi Tel Aviv point guard from last season is joining Nikola Jokic's squad on a $3.3 million deal. He will be replaced by Keaton Wallace, who agreed to terms last night.
After one season with Maccabi Tel Aviv and a summer spent searching for a new team, Lonnie Walker reached an agreement overnight (Wednesday to Thursday) on a one-year contract with the Denver Nuggets, where he will earn $3.3 million. Although Walker's NBA exit clause from Maccabi Tel Aviv had expired three weeks ago, the club granted him an extension to exercise the option in exchange for him waiving his contract for the next two years. Last season in the EuroLeague, the point guard averaged 15.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
This development comes less than 24 hours after the club agreed to a two-year deal with Keaton Wallace, who is set to bolster the team's backcourt. The 27-year-old guard (1.91 meters) played the last two seasons for the Atlanta Hawks. In the 2025/26 season, Wallace averaged 3.5 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 10 minutes per game, shooting 37.3 percent from beyond the arc. In his 2024/25 rookie season, he averaged 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 16 minutes per game. That same year, he recorded several standout performances, including a career-high 27 points against the Chicago Bulls and his first career triple-double—15 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists—in a victory over the Orlando Magic.
